Those performing services and duties of a public character for benefit of all citizens of community. The term includes firemen and policemen. Miller v. City of Albany, 158 Misc. 720, 287 N.Y.S. 889, 891. Also, public school officials are government agents within the purview of both the Federal and State Constitutions and, thus, must respect the constitutional rights of students in their charge against unreasonable searches and seizures.
